I wish I could remember where I read this at, because it’s one of those knock yourself on the head moments while saying “why didn’t I think of that!” This does take a little up front money, but the return can be out of this world.
I love the after Christmas clearance sales, and this gal put those sales to work for her. Geez, I love any clearance sale! Purchase the items that you think you can resell on e-bay about October or November next year. Clearance sales allow you to purchase the items for pennies on the dollar—get them if you think the items are re-sellable! Do this all year and stash them in a safe place. Come October/November 2010, get those items out, take pictures of them and sell them on e-bay. Not much effort—the blog I read, the gal made—yes MADE $750. She had listed the items along with her purchase and e-bay final sale price. But I can’t remember---the mind—it’s the first to go.
Look at this as our Christmas 2010 savings plan! Keep good records of what you paid for these items so you know what you will need to get when you post on e-bay. I’m working on a spreadsheet to help with the record keeping. At the very least, on a piece of paper, write the item, cost and date and tape it to the item. Post it notes will not stay that long, be sure to tape it on.
